Serbia vs. Switzerland Football Match in FIFA World Cup 22 June 2018


Serbia faces Switzerland in Kaliningrad on Friday for their second match of Pool E. Serbia, who won their first match of the competition in pain against Costa Rica (1-0) will try to continue their momentum against Switzerland to secure a place in the round of 16.

This will be the first confrontation between veteran Aleksandar Kolarov's Serbia and Switzerland coached by Vladimir Petković. Serbia has three victories (Nigeria, Bolivia and Costa Rica) and two defeats (Morocco, Chile) matches in competition and friendly matches.


Serbia and captain Kolarov face Switzerland for the first time in their history at this World Cup. Yet both countries have a small link. Switzerland has flown over its qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup with nine wins and one loss. After their first match against Brazil (1-1), Switzerland wants to confirm against the Serbs. From the draw, Gelson Fernandes knew he had to be wary of Serbia and this group noted: "Serbia is a quality team with big individualities. The challenge is daunting, but at the same time, we will have nothing to lose, it is a challenge that awaits us and we will do everything to overcome it successfully".
