The France meets
Friday night Bulgaria in a match
that should recall a bad memory to the long-standing supporters of the Team
France. A month after being defeated by Belarus, the French team crosses the
line with Bulgaria in the 2018 World Cup
qualifiers.
Match Schedule:
France vs. Bulgaria
World Cup Qualifiers
First round
Date: 07 October 2017, 20:45
Venue: Vasil Levski
National Stadium, Sofia
To make the task easier and to reach the 2018 World Cup, the band to Didier Deschamps no longer has the
right to error after a 0-0 draw against Belarus last month. Bulgaria is not
necessarily a good memory for the French team. In 1962 the Blues lost 1-0 against
the Bulgarians in the 1962 World Cup play-off.
In 1993, the Cantona gang was crucified in the stoppages by
Kostadinov and lost 2-1. With this defeat France
had missed his qualification at the 1994 World
Championship. Hugo Lloris assures him the story will not deconcentrate his
teammates: "I did not live it live. The pictures I discovered later, I had
to be six - seven years old. It had made a lot of noise; it's one of the
failures of the French team. But it belongs to the past. Most of my teammates
were not born. It does not change our readiness. "
After a disappointment against Belarus, the French team will have to be wary of the
Bulgarians and make full use of points. For in the same group, it will then
cross the iron with Sweden and the Netherlands. Of course, these two formations
are not as efficient as in the past, but can however cause surprise.
