This evening at 20.45 the Italian National team will play in Turin against Macedonia the second leg of UEFA
qualifiers in the 2018 World Cup.
Due to the overwhelming defeat suffered in the direct confrontation with Spain,
it seems almost impossible for the National to qualify directly for the final
phase of the World Cup finishing the
group first.
Match Schedule:
Italy vs. FYR Macedonia
World Cup Qualifiers
First round
Date: 06 October 2017, 20:45
Venue: Olimpico di
Torino, Turin
Because of that Spain should be refitted four points and only
the easy matches against Albania and Israel remain. Italy will then have to settle for second place, and then go to qualifying for the November games
against one of the other second-placed European teams.
Two goals from the end Italy
is only a point to have second place but after the last two disappointing
performances - against Spain and Israel - Giampiero Ventura team is asking for
something more than what has been seen so far though he has to face it with
several absences and even though it is two commitments against smaller
nationals who no longer have any goals.
Tonight there is Italy-Macedonia,
the penultimate match of UEFA World Cup
qualifiers in 2018: it is played at the Grande Torino Olympic Stadium at
20.45. Macedonia goes down in the field knowing that it has already been
eliminated from the group and therefore cannot qualify for the World Cup;
Italy, on the other hand is almost certain to finish the group in second place
behind Spain - enough to get to the playoffs that will be played in September.
